The Useful Birthday Cake

Hello everyone,

I find it hard to believe that we are only hours away from the beginning of June – I feel like April is only just beginning!

This month I did have the wonderful privilege of making this little birthday gift for my beloved father. Although crocheting may not be my forte, I appreciated the structure it provided for this tissue box cover.

I based the pattern on the one that can be found on this blog, and had fun creating candles and hearts for the exterior. To top it all off, two chains and some stitches made the final embellishments on the side of the cake. Voila!

In the end, he was certainly surprised! This lovely little reminder of our shared birthday now sits on the kitchen table, taking on the appearance of the most useful delicacy you’ll ever lay eyes upon!

What’s your favourite “fun” item you’ve ever made?

Enjoy this coming June everyone!
