Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a fantastic day so far.
Here at Little Yellow Sheep, it’s been a day of scrolling through knitting photos, picking which project should be highlighted next. Deciding it was best to start at the beginning, I chose to feature the Celtic Cables Scarf.
That one fateful afternoon when I dreamed up the idea of Little Yellow Sheep, I also decided that I would need to create original patterns to sell as either the pattern itself or the product. As a result, I busily buried myself in the only yarn and needles I had available at the time…we were 13 hours from home without any yarn stores around, after all!
As you can see, I decided a scarf would provide a safe template for my first original design. I quickly chose two stitch patterns I loved and wanted to see combined, deciding that one (the Celtic Cable) would be repeated going both directions, these two directions broken up by lattice work.
Many scribbles later, this was the result!
I was quite pleased with it, but not done experimenting quite yet. I knit it once more, this time with an eye-catching colour combo. In the end, I still cannot pick a favourite between the two….
Until next time,
